Misir Carsisi-Spice Bazaar

Spices at the Spice Bazaar

The Spice bazaar, known in Turkish as the Misir Carsisi has every spice you can imagine compete for your attention. It is a kaleidoscope of color and smell.

Huge sacks filled overflowing with cumin and cinnamon, mustard-yellow turmeric, yellow saffron, orange tea leaves, tubs of freshly roasted pistachions, tempting dried apricots and figs. And on the shelves overhead are jars of nutmeg, cloves, pale cardamom seeds and the red and whites raisins used in desserts
