More Istanbul

This city was a little intimidating and exciting at the same time. Not understanding a word of their language really made me feel like a foreigner. The hotel personnel spoke English as well as the tour guides and some
shop owners.
The hotel we were staying at was surrounded by mosques. Every three hours, the muezzin at every mosque fills the air with his melodic and penetrating voice, which came from a loud speaker set to maximum volume.
Every mosque is urging people to pray and all other sources of music are switched off in order to listen to Allah's voice. The last call is around 11:00 pm and then starts again around 7 am.
