Gigi's Fiber Art Piece

Gigi's painting (2"x5")

Fabric piece (24"x38")

This is a small painting from artist Gigi Mederos (www.adrianamederos.com)
Gigi commissioned me to make her painting into a fiber art piece The finished piece is 24" by 38".
I used 100% cottons, hand dyed fabric, duponi silks and cheese cloth for the strips. The backing is silk and the binding is 100% hand dyed cotton
Some of the areas were first machine quilted using decorative stitches and the rest hand stitched with quilting thread and perle yarn to keep the three layers together. The backing is silk and the binding is 100% hand dyed cotton.
